Andy Cook, Motorcycle Account Specialist for Close Brothers Motor Finance, is celebrating after he became the latest member of the company’s motorcycle division to pass their full bike licence.

Andy, who joined the company in July 2014, completed his module 2 test after just a few weeks of study and training, and has now taken delivery of a brand new BMW R1200GS, a bike that he will use every day in his role with Close Brothers Motor Finance.

Andy said: “I’m passionate about bikes and I’ve always wanted to have my own, so this has been a great opportunity for me to fulfil a personal ambition.

“It’s also going to have a big impact on my job, as I’ll be swapping four wheels for two to get out on the road, visiting dealers across the midlands on the new BMW.

“It’s one of the best machines for the job and not only does it have some fantastic technology to help me when I’m travelling, but with the panniers and good riding position it is practical and comfortable as well. I can’t wait to start clocking up the miles on it.”

Chris Reid, National Motorcycle Manager for Close Brothers Motor Finance said: “We’re delighted to see Andy pass his bike test and it now means that every one of our Motorcycle Account Specialists will be travelling across the UK on two wheels.

“It couldn’t have come at a better time as to celebrate Ride to Work Week from the 15th-21st June, our team were all out on the road visiting our dealer partners on their motorcycles.”

Julian Oliver, Motorcycle Account Specialist for Close Brothers Motor Finance in the South West said: “We made a special effort to visit as many of our partners as possible during Ride to Work Week, not only to discuss their business needs, but help them to promote the benefits of two-wheeled commuting.

“I met with a number of our partners including Bath Road Motorcycles in Bristol and T-Moto in Weston-Super-Mare, and there was a unanimous agreement that Ride to Work Week is an important way to showcase the benefits of motorcycling including potential time savings and vastly reduced costs.”

Chris Reid added: “Meeting regularly with our dealers is a key part of our service all year round and because Andy, Julian and the rest of our team are all bikers I firmly believe that it strengthens the personal relationships that we share with them.

“We understand that bike dealers are different because their job is a passion and a pastime, not just a career. They think, talk and love bikes and it’s the same across our team.

“We are committed to helping our partners to sell more bikes and add value to their business and a big part of that for us is a offering a high quality, personalised service.

“The in-depth industry knowledge shared by our motorcycle division is unrivalled and together we are passionate about getting more riders out on the road. For Andy, there really was no one better to start with than himself.”
