Celine Grant named Best Exporter at Women In Business Awards

21 November 2017 by Sinead Little

Re-Gen Waste Ltd’s Director of Product Sales, Celine Grant, is celebrating lifting the award for Best Exporter at the Women In Business Awards 2017.

The annual awards ceremony, held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Belfast on Thursday 9th November, celebrates the success of female entrepreneurs, business leaders and senior managers making a valuable contribution to the Northern Ireland economy.

The award for Best Exporter was sponsored by Aer Lingus and recognises the businesswoman that successfully demonstrates high levels of export turnover and a continued export growth plan.

Mrs Grant faced down stiff competition from Kitchenmaster-NI and Heavenly Tasty Organics Ltd to lift the award this year. Speaking at the ceremony, Celine Grant said; “I am absolutely delighted to win this award, which I accept on behalf of my very capable team including Christine Park and Martin Cranney. We have had a tremendous year and it is extremely gratifying to know that our peers and the business community recognise the hard work and dedication we have put into making our business the success it is.” Celine has rocketed Re-Gen Waste Ltd to become one of Europe’s leading waste management companies. She is responsible for 84% of Re-Gen’s revenue, which is derived from End Market Sales and a 21% increase from last year. Last April Re-Gen announced signing a £10 million contract to provide all their collected glass to Belgian glass recycling specialists, High 5 Recycling Group. The company invested heavily in a state of the art glass screening plant to improve the screening and cleaning of their recycled glass which means that 95% of glass gathered in the UK and Northern Ireland through their commingled waste streams is processed ‘back to bottle’. In September they completed a £2million extension to their paper recycling lines, which allows them to offer China and other markets, higher grades of paper. Additionally they have doubled their German paper export order and have sourced new customers in Europe who will take all grades of paper so that they are not heavily reliant on our Chinese market.

Celine continued: “We have significant plans for the continued growth and evolution of Re-Gen with a clear strategy to expand in the UK and European markets. We are aggressively targeting a number of public sector contracts across the UK and have earmarked £9m to invest in innovation and improvement over the next few years.”

Celine is Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Waste Management and board member of the Recycling Association.
