Q Radio celebrates continued growth with latest RAJAR results

The latest set of figures from radio industry body RAJAR has revealed Q Radio’s listenership continues to grow. The station’s audience increased by an additional 13,000 listeners compared to the same period last year.

Q Radio’s listeners are also enjoying better music for 30 minutes longer each week as they tune in for 8 hours on average, with 63% of their listeners in the 25 – 44 year old age bracket.

Q Radio’s regional station figures have also increased by 10,000 year on year with a weekly reach of 153,000 listeners, while Q Belfast has attracted an additional 4,000 listeners on the same period last year with a total audience of 133,000.

Managing Director and Head of Programmes at Q Radio, Robert Walshe said: “The Q Radio team is incredibly pleased with these latest year on year figures which are testament to the efforts we make to attract and retain listeners as well as to our listeners’ loyalty.

“We are continually striving to bring the Q sound to as large an audience as possible and with our recent FM licence extensions, as well as the launch of the Q cube in Ballymena’s Tower Centre, we remain committed to enhancing the station’s reach.

“We have an incredibly talented line up of presenters who are committed to connecting with our listeners through both music played and editorial content.

“The recent additions to our schedule, including Q love songs with Owen Larkin on Sunday mornings and The Q with Olga Kaye on Sunday nights, reinforce our commitment to regularly review and refresh our programming.

The RAJAR reporting period covers Q4 of 2017.
