The Northern Ireland based company lifted the Innovation Award for delivering enhanced products, services, and strategies to meet specific client needs and for building differentiation in the sector; the Sustainability Award for taking responsibility as part of their business strategy, to conserve natural resources and protect global ecosystems and the Company of the Year Award which was decided based upon their best practice scores from the EIC’s 57 industry judges.

The company was recognised for applying their 100% no man entry robotics technology to “reduce the personal risk of a routine activity that many people are not aware of but is an essential industry task.”

With access to the latest and best in technology and innovation Re-Gen Robotics’ has created the demand in the industry for safe, reliable, affordable, robotic tank cleaning and monitoring solutions.

According to Managing Director Fintan Duffy, it is their “ability to build on client relationships and in line with their clients’ desire to further streamline and make maintenance management as safe as possible across their terminals, together they are ensuring that sound working practices are the highest priority onsite.”

Mr Duffy says his technology “combines improved safety outcomes and cost-effectiveness which are essential to a sustainable future for the oil and gas industry.”

At the heart of the process is Re-Gen Robotics’ proprietary tank cleaning service which can be adapted to suit individual client needs and time frames - a one stop shop for safer, faster, and cheaper tank cleaning with measurably better results than traditional methods along with intelligent in-reporting capabilities to evaluate and improve the process for future cleans.

Re-Gen Robotics tank cleaning systems solve all the problems of safety, manpower, time, and effective utilisation of resources connected with cleaning of oil tanks. Productivity is enhanced and tanks can be brought into operation again more quickly.

Mr. Duffy says, “Thanks to our highly standardised and self-contained operation process, the cleaning schedule is very precise, allowing clients to reasonably estimate the amount of time needed for cleaning any given tank. There are clear advantages for tank terminals; fixed costs, reduced paperwork and permits, and no requirement for capital outlay and standby rescue teams.

In addition to the time and cost efficiencies that Re-Gen Robotics provides in the delivery of their award-winning tank cleaning solution, the experience of the team is something Mr Duffy is most proud of. He praised the “talent, passion and determination they have to develop the technology and service that is spearheading the design of the next generation of class leading robots, in the tank cleaning sector.”

The firm, which completed its £1 million headquarters, including a research and development facility in December 2021, service oil major across the UK and Europe such as Shell, Vermilion and Philips 66.

Staffing levels have doubled in the last year taking headcount to twelve, with more Design Engineers, Robot Operators and Project Managers being recruited to meet demand.

The team is working hard on several new patents that will allow them to carry out more and more diverse tasks remotely and plans are also in place to further develop existing equipment, as the company invests to serve European and worldwide demand.

Managing Director, Fintan Duffy said: “Our focus is firmly on plans to realise a raft of new equipment in 2022. The company has evolved so much recently with the addition of new robots, equipment and services that have very quickly made a big impact on our market share. So, investing further in our incredibly talented people, our processes and facilities is the next strategic step for us.”
